CFA: Specially designed equipment

Enteco has developed and designed very high-performance CFA rigs provided with high torque rotary tables, crowd and extraction force winches, large diameter facility and long stroke mast: this means great productivity and efficiency even in difficult soil conditions.

Enteco can provide CFA applications for piling up to 1500 mm diameter to a depth greater than 40 meters: also in single pass. Enteco rigs with CFA system are equipped with very powerful hydraulic rotary tables that are sliding along the drilling mast of the unit by means of a high-performance winch capable of developing very high crowd and extraction force. 

This is our specialty, having innovative patents and more than 30 years of hands-on experience in the field. Whilst soil pressure and stability monitoring have been standard features on all Enteco machines for more than thirty years, we constantly designed solutions to obtain a considerable increase in daily output, faster execution and on-site safety. Solutions also designed to reduce costs, vibration, noise and consumption.

The CFA method

CFA pile is formed by drilling into the ground with a hollow stemmed continuous flight auger to the required depth or degree of resistance. A high slump concrete mix is then pumped down the stem of the auger. While the concrete is pumped, the auger is slowly withdrawn. The spoil on the flights is recovered by means of a hydraulic auger cleaner applied to the mast of the rig. A shaft of fluid concrete is formed to ground level. A reinforcement cage is placed along the formed and still fluid concrete column. Longer reinforcement cages can be installed by an auxiliary vibrator.
